Edith Piaf – Récital 1962 (LP Columbia – FSX 143, 1962).
Genre : Chanson, Pop, Live.

“ Récital 1962 ”, is an album by Edith Piaf , recorded live at L'Olympia in Paris, on September 27, 1962 which is also known as “Olympia 1962” or “A l'Olympia 1962”. It was released on the Columbia label (FSX 143) and Jean Leccia conducted the orchestra. Piaf was already in a weakened physical state at the time of the performance, and a doctor supported her from backstage. She died the following year, aged 47. From the LP we highlight "La Foule", "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien", "Milord", "Toi Tu L'entendre Pas" and "Le Diable de la Bastille". The LP also includes a duet on "A Quoi Ca Sert L'Amour" ("What Good Is Love?") with Théo Sarapo, a 26-year-old singer whom she married two weeks later. This was the 5th album of 5 LPs that Edith Piaf recorded live in that famous concert hall. Olympia opened the curtains for Piaf, for the last time, in September 1962. After two long periods in hospital with a hepatic coma, Édith Piaf died on October 11, 1963, in the city of Grasse, South of France.
