The Beatles – The Beatles (White Album) (2 x LP 1968)

The Beatles – The Beatles (White Album) (2 x LP Apple Records – PCS 7067/8, November 22, 1968).
Production : George Martin, Chris Thomas.
Genre : Pop Rock, Experimental, Psychedelic Rock.

“ The Beatles ” (also known as the "White Album") is the ninth studio album by The Beatles , the first without their manager Brian Epstein, recorded from May 30 to October 14, 1968 at the studios from Abbey Road and EMI's Trident Studio, in London, and released in the United Kingdom as a double disc by Apple Records, on November 22 of that same year. The album was also released in the USA through the Capitol Records label. The songs on the album have a very different repertoire in styles, ranging from British blues to Ska, with influences from Chuck Berry and Karlheinz Sotckhausen. Many of the songs on the album were written in March and April 1968 on the Beatles' transcendental meditation trip to Rishikesh, India. The group returned to Abbey Road studios in London at the end of May to begin recording sessions that would last until mid-October. During these sessions, arguments over creative differences were frequent between the band members. However, Eric Clapton's presence in the studio served to ease tensions between the group, which led to an improvement in their behavior. But tensions continued throughout the following year, until the band's end in 1970. The “White Album” was the Beatles' first work to be released by Apple Records and was also the only double album of the band's career. The cover of “The Beatles” was created by pop artist Richard Hamilton.
