The Beach Boys - Surfin' Safari (LP 1962)

The Beach Boys - Surfin' Safari (LP Capitol T 1808, 1962).

The Beach Boys is a rock band from the United States formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961, and is considered one of the most influential in the history of rock and pop. He managed to place dozens of songs on the charts (and also four 45 rpm songs in first place among the best sellers in the United States), in addition to record-breaking album sales. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Their 1966 album Pet Sounds, which contains classics such as "Wouldn't It Be Nice", "Sloop John B", and "God Only Knows", is considered one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of pop music.

The original group consisted of singer-musician-songwriter Brian Wilson, his brothers Carl and Dennis, cousin Mike Love and friend Alan Jardine. Numerous changes in both musical style and lineup occurred during the band's turbulent existence. The psychological problems, drug abuse and eventual separation of Brian, the deaths of Dennis in 1983 and Carl in 1998 and the legal battles between the surviving members of the group.
It was a group that did practically everything, surf rock (which was the initial style, being predominantly of the genre until the sixth album, All Summer Long), including classical music, country, blues, soul, bossa nova, Hawaiian music, even hard rock like "All I Want To Do" from the 1969 album 20/20, among several others already listed in the discography. They helped define baroque pop and sunshine pop in 1965 with Today and Summer Days (And Summer Nights), styles that already contain the first traces of art rock and psychedelic rock released by Pet Sounds in 1966.
