Billy Fury (17 April 1940, Dingle, Liverpool – 28 January 1983, Paddington, London), whose real name is Ronald Wycherley, was an internationally successful British singer from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s , and remained an active composer until the 1980s. The rheumatic fever that he first contracted as a child damaged his heart and ultimately contributed to his death on January 28, 1983. Fury was Considered a British star, he soon equaled the Beatles' record of 24 hits in the 1960s, spending 332 weeks in the UK charts without a single or album topping the charts.
