The Walker Brothers ‎– The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore (LP 1966)

The Walker Brothers ‎– The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore (LP Smash Records/MGS 27082,
1966).
Producer: Johnny Franz.
Genre: Rock, Pop.

“ The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore ” is the fourth studio album by the group The Walker Brothers , released in 1966 by Smash Records and the second released in the USA, after their debut LP in that country, “Introducing the Walker Brothers” , from 1965.
The album was prepared by the record label Smash Records to promote the group in the United States, where they were not as successful as in Great Britain. Produced by Johnny Franz, the album is full of well-orchestrated ballads.
The Walker Brothers weren't really British and weren't even brothers, and their real names had nothing to do with Walker. They were Californians Scott Engel (better known as Scott Walker), John Maus and Gary Leeds, and they became big stars in England at the height of the British invasion. After moving to Great Britain in 1965, the group achieved great success with several very successful albums and singles in the UK. The Walker Brothers provided a unique counterpoint to the so-called "British Invasion" by achieving much greater success in the United Kingdom than in their home country, at a time when the popularity of British bands such as the Beatles dominated the US charts.

The Walker Brothers were an American pop music band with a career in the 60s and 70s, formed by Scott Engel, John Maus and Gary Leeds. They had several hits on the music charts, including the number 1 singles "Make It Easy on Yourself" and "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore)".
Formed in 1964, the trio of unrelated musicians adopted the name "Walker Brothers" as a show business strategy. They provided a unique counterpoint to the British Invasion, being musicians from the United States who achieved great success only in the United Kingdom and Germany, while the popularity of bands like The Beatles multiplied in their homeland.
They continued to be successful in Europe until the end of the 60s, but for various reasons that undermined the group's integration, they separated after a tour of Japan in 1968.
They reunited unexpectedly in 1976, scoring a UK Top 10 hit with "No Regrets". The trio separated again in 1978, this time permanently.
