“ You Baby ” is the second studio album by American rock band The Turtles , released on April 9, 1966, through the White Whale Records label. The group is best known for the songs "Happy Together", from 1967, and "Surfer Dan" (1968). For this album, the group composed a lot of original material. From the LP we highlight the tracks “Let Me Be”, “You Baby”, “Almost There” and “Down in Suburbia”. From the album, the songs “You Baby” and “Let Me Be” reached positions no. 20 and 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1966.
The Turtles are an American psychedelic pop/rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California/USA, by vocalist Howard Kaylan, with Volman, Al Nichol, Chuck Portz, Don Murray and Jim Tucker. The group broke up in 1971. Jim Tucker left the band after the third album. Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman later became members of Frank Zappa's band The Mothers Of Invention. The group was active from 1965 to 1970 and met again in 1983 until today. More information about the band The Turtles can already be found on this blog.
